Love or Power and the Goddess

I am visiting right now at the location where the famous fire ceremony that started the Shakti Peethas …. and I want to share the story and inspiration of the Shakti Peetha with you .
Daksha was a famous man, a son of Brahma the Creator. He was holding a large fire ceremony according to Vedic rules. In these fire ceremonies there are many offerings made to gain a desired outcome. This was a big event and everyone was invited, except Sati’s husband Shiva. Sati was so heartbroken and insulted that her father would not honour her Love that she offered herself into the fire …. and something magical happened .

Shiva arrived finding his wife dead and took her in his arms flying over India in his grief and while he flew Sati’s body parts started to fall. Where each part landed an incredible portal for the Goddesses blessing arose and became called Shakti Peethas.

Rather than being extinguished by offering herself into the fire Sati actually blossomed and became seeded throughout India being able to give blessings to Her children.

It was because of her purity, because she demanded that Love be Honoured over the acquisition of power and Vedic dogma Sati became full and Effulgent.
The blessing powers discovered when you visit a Shakti Peetha is just that, pure Love and inspiration to live and share this love which is the path of the Goddess.
